Once you鈥檝e submitted your admission application, you will be able to upload supporting materials through your account in Tyler鈥檚 application portal by clicking 鈥渟ubmit required items.鈥� These include the聽letters of reference, statement of goals, r茅sum茅 and standardized test scores.聽
Three letters of recommendation should be obtained from college/university faculty members and/or professionals in the field who are familiar with your academic and professional competence.鈥�
In 500 to 1,000 words, describe your鈥痠nterest in the program, research goals, future career goals, academic and research achievements, and how you will contribute to the Tyler School of Art and Architecture鈥檚 mission.聽
A current聽r茅sum茅 is required.
Official transcripts from all universities and colleges attended must be sent as part of the online application, including those where no degree was awarded, and courses were taken as an undergraduate鈥痮r a graduate student.聽
Due to testing limitations related to COVID-19, the Tyler School of Art and Architecture is temporarily waiving submission of GRE scores for applicants to the MS in Architecture degree program. You may still voluntarily submit GRE test scores and they will be used as a supplement to required application materials.聽
All applicants must submit work samples in portfolio format of your most important and representative academic and/or professional work.
Portfolios are to be uploaded at聽, as instructed on the website. SlideRoom requires an additional fee for this service. Original work, slides, CD-ROMs, catalogs, photographs, books and/or binders are not acceptable substitutes for the SlideRoom portfolio and will not be reviewed or returned.
The Architecture Admissions Committee recommends the awarding of graduate transfer credits on a case-by-case basis as applications are reviewed. The maximum number of graduate transfer credits a student may receive is nine.
Applicants who earned their baccalaureate degree from an institution where the language of instruction was other than English, with the exception of those who subsequently earned a master鈥檚 degree at a U.S. institution, must report scores for a standardized test of English that meet these minimums.
Applicants must meet the Jan. 6 priority deadline to be considered for financial assistance. After this date, applications may be considered on a rolling basis.
