You will receive your nine-digit °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø identification number (TUid) via email once you submit your application for admission. Be sure to include your name and TUid on all documents that you mail to °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø. .

Prerequisites

A master’s degree is not required. The PhD requires the completion of 106 credit hours post-baccalaureate.

Supporting Materials

  1. Transcripts: Submit official undergraduate ²¹²Ô»åÌýgraduate transcripts from all accredited institutions you have attended and/or from which you earned credit. Official transcripts can be emailed to educate@temple.edu or sent to the Office of Enrollment Management address listed above.

  2. Statement of Goals: Write a 500- to 1,000-word statement in autobiographical style covering the following areas:

    1. How does the doctoral program at °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø fit your individual interests, needs and future goals (including the faculty member whose research best matches your own interests)?

    2. Why do you wish to become a school psychologist?

    3. What do you perceive as the role and functions of a school psychologist?

    4. What is your area of research focus?

  3. Academic Writing Sample: This should be a paper written for a course within the past five years. If applicants do not have a recent paper written for a course, they should compose an op-ed piece on the educational issue of their choosing. The op-ed should be between 400 and 1,200 words and should be the kind of piece that might appear in The New York Times or The Philadelphia Inquirer.

  4. Recommendations: Two letters of reference, preferably from college or university faculty, should be obtained to provide insight into your academic competences. Letters of reference through your MyTU account.

  5. ¸éé²õ³Ü³¾Ã©:ÌýA current professional résumé is required.

  6. GRE score: The test must have been taken within five years of the application date. Your official scores should be sent directly from the Educational Testing Agency. The institutional code for °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø is 2906. 

  7. Interview: An interview with the faculty admissions committee may be required after your application is complete.

Additional Requirements for International Students

International applicants should also submit the following materials.

  • An official document that validates completion and conferral of a degree, diploma and/or certificate. While not required, applicants are encouraged to submit transcripts to the for evaluation.
  • Official TOEFL or IELTS exam scores if you are a non-native speaker of English. A minimum score of 79 TOEFL iBT or 6.5 on IELTS is required for admission. .
