Residency Programs
Increasingly, students who graduate with Doctor of Pharmacy degrees pursue postgraduate residency programs that further prepare them for clinical practice.ÌýMany positions in academia and clinical pharmacy have a minimum requirement of a post-graduate first-year residency (PGY-1).ÌýPost-graduate second-year (PGY-2) residencies give °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø professionals the opportunity to specialize in a particular clinical area.Ìý
, °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø's affiliated system of hospitals, clinics, and physician offices, hosts five PGY-1 residents per year and a PGY-2 residency in solid organ transplant. Along with °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø Health staff, faculty serve as mentors for these programs.Ìý
In affiliation with °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø Health, °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø School of Pharmacy hosts four PGY-2 residents per year in ambulatory care, critical care, infectious diseases and internal medicine.ÌýThese programs are accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists and are available to PharmD graduates.
