Data scientists work to draw insights from large quantities of both structured and unstructured data. Students in the Data Science program will be entering a high-demand field. The need for trained data scientists continues to grow, and companies across industries are recognizing a soaring need for professionals who have both sophisticated analytic and statistics skills, and the softer communication skills to be able to present their findings.Ìý

Data Science Majors at °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø will gain a specialized education in the field by choosing one of three concentrations and then following a tailored curriculum over the course of four years.

Specialization means that graduates with a degree in Data ScienceÌýare well prepared for math, medical and science career opportunities that seek niche skills. Major requirements and credit hours will vary with concentrations.

Concentrations

You can focus on Data Science or you can take one of the following concentrations.

  • Computation and Modeling

    Mold data generated by complex physical systems into detailed models that facilitate decision-making for scientists and other professionals.
