Biography
Ksenia Power is an assistant professor in the Department of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø. She completed her PhD in kinesiology (psychology of human movement concentration) at °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø, where she also instructed kinesiology courses for undergraduate students. Dr. Power's research interests include eating disorders and compulsive exercise in collegiate athletes (dissertation topic); facilitation of post-graduation exercise adherence and sport commitment for NCAA athletes; and exercise promotion and adherence for adult and underserved populations. Dr. Power has also served as a volunteer assistant women’s tennis coach at °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø since 2016. Prior to her career at °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø, she obtained a master’s degree at The University of Akron in sport science and wellness education with a concentration in physical education and coaching. For her master’s thesis, Dr. Power examined the effects of coaching behaviors, intrinsic motivation and scholarship status on NCAA Division I tennis players’ sport commitment. Dr. Power received her bachelor’s degree in communications from The University of Akron, where she also played Division I tennis from 2010 until 2014.
